The Wedding of David and Forrest

Sometimes you meet a couple and you instantly know that they have a deep and unique relationship. David and Forrest can light up a room with the love that glows in their eyes for each other! Forrest shares how they met. "Through school one of my best friends had a brother who had a friend which was David. We had been acquaintances just by seeing each other through the years, but were never anything more than that. A couple years had passed and we kind of reconnected and became really good friends which led to a relationship. Now almost 6 years later we are not only in love, but each others best friend. I think David and I can both agree that we never thought this would happen, but totally happy it did." The couple chose to have their wedding at the home of the brides parents. It was a beautiful setting in a small meadow surrounded by trees and a nearby creek. They wanted a sweet and simple wedding because what mattered the most to them was to be married and to enjoy their family and friends. The ceremony was in the evening and the trees created the perfect shading while the creek quietly bubbled by in the background. Family and friends were there as they became one. After the ceremony David and Forrest enjoyed time with their family and friends. Guests enjoyed a pot luck style dinner and cake while the kids played in the creek! In My Heart Photography has seen many weddings. We were especially touched by the love David and Forrest has for each other. They were so easy going and they did not stress over the details. They just couldn't wait to see each other and to become man and wife. Their love is patient, kind and gentle. We were so happy to be a part of their special day and to catch these beautiful memories in photographs. We hope that these pictures will always bring smiles to their hearts!

Lucian and Kelsey Shockley Weddding July 2016

Part of our wedding package is engagement pictures.  We love this part of the package because it gives us a chance to get to know the wedding couple and for them to become comfortable with our shooting style.  Lucian and Kelsey's story is a special one.  Their story in Kelsey's words warm the heart and shows how deeply in love they are!

"Lucian and I met at a party on the 5th of July back in 2014. An old girlfriend and I were just planning on staying in, watching movies and just having a girls night, that was until I drove by and saw that Lucian was going to be at a small party that night.
Lucian tried to teach me how to dance that night (he thought he knew how ;-) ) We left the party early and spent the entire night driving around innocently talking and learning about each other. We stopped at a river Lucian had named 'Canada'. Before we knew it we had talked all night and into the morning when he took me home. It was an instantaneous connection, before I knew it we were together all the time, completely inseparable. He finally 'officially' asked me out a couple months later to which I said "no", I enjoyed having a friend that I could talk to about anything and everything and was afraid that might disappear with a relationship. We stayed friends for a while longer when he asked again and I said "yes", that was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I figured out immediately after we started dating that he was unlike any other guy I had ever met. The way he cared for me everyone could clearly see. No matter what has happened in our lives we have stood by each other and supported each other. We starting going to church together while we were dating, we were even baptised together.
He completely took me by surprise when he proposed at my family's thanksgiving dinner, without hesitation I said "yes". We were married towards the beginning of July because the fourth of July is our favorite holiday, also because we had met on the 5th.
Getting married to me is the most holy and beautiful thing I have ever experienced. Making a commitment  to stand by each other no matter what is something that should not be taken lightly, yes it has taken us a long time and a lot of work to get here today; and we still have a long ways to go, however I can not see spending my life with anyone else, God has blessed me beyond my most creative imagination with this man.
Our dream has always been to have a farm where we would be close to our families and raise our children (possibly adopt) however no one ever knows what God really has in store; whatever it might be I pray we get to spend the rest of our lives by each others side."

Keeping it close to home held true for their wedding as well.  The wedding was to be on Lucian's family farm.  The night before the wedding a storm blew through right at rehearsal time.  Plans for setting up for the wedding the night be came to a screeching halt.  Set up would have to wait until the day of the wedding.  They worried that it might rain on their wedding day too but when a big rainbow appeared shortly after the storm we all just knew that everything would be OK!

Sure enough the next day the sun arose revealing a beautiful day for their wedding!  The families of the bride and groom got busy and worked all day to put together the wedding of Lucian and Kelsey's dreams.

The wedding was set in front of a pond in a small valley and was surrounded by trees green and vibrant from the summer rains.  The sun was setting behind the wedding party creating a beautiful golden glow on this beautiful wedding that was so full of love.

The ring bearer was of the four legged type!  Jack the dog was a wonderful addition to the wedding celebration!

The reception had many details that a whole lot of heart was put into .  Engagement pictures of the bride and groom decorated the tables and pictures  them and their families were even strung around trees with strings of lights!  They had built a dance floor complete with mare lights and white tule dropped beautifully overhead providing a magical first dance as husband and wife!

Kelsey was absolutely beautiful in her wedding dress.  Her striking hair looked like the glow of the sunset that fell slowly from the sky behind her.  She was so sweet and gracious and it was clear that her handsome groom Lucian loves her to the moon and back!

Despite the challenges with weather and set up, it was a gorgeous wedding and Lucian and Kelsey are happily married.  Congratulations to you both!  We are so very happy for you and will be thrilled to watch your family grow!

Prom 2016

The dance was in the 481 barn. It was a great place to dance, giving plenty of room for everyone to dance. We have worked with DJ at last year's prom too . He is friendly and professional but most importantly he plays the best dancing music!

Venue 481 went above and beyond when they flipped the dinner hall to accommodate laser tag! It had been planned for outside but due to the rain , had to be moved indoors. The kids had a blast with it and we were so happy they didn't have to miss out on it
As vendors ourselves it is really nice to work with other vendors. Each of us doing our own thing yet working together simultaneously to make wonderful memories happen for many people wether it's a wedding, a prom, or other events! Thank you to you all and to the teachers and faculty of Niangua school for the warm welcome!because of the weather. We have to admit, we had a lot of fun watching them!

The Love Story of Terry and Amanda Asher

How we met,, my sister was dating one of Terry's friends and that is how my sister met Terry and then she introduced us in Hannah's parking lot one night in 2001, but before we met in person, we had talked on the phone a few times and when we finally did meet in person, first thing he tried to do was kiss me and I was to shy and so therefore he just thought I didn't like him lol and when he asked me to marry him a few months later, I was over visiting him and he was sitting in a chair and I was sitting on his lap and he asked me to marry him, The first few months we were dating I wouldn't even eat in front of him, I was so shy he thought I didn't even like him lol I was however always giggly around him especially when he would try to kiss me and I still am at times lol I remember though before I met Terry that I never heard of Niangua, I didn't even know if I was pronouncing it correctly when I would say it,, and little did I know, as I was standing there in Hannah's parking lot that night when I met him, that this little town I never heard of would soon be my Home where we are raising our family.
We were married down in Waynesville Mo. We have 4 kids, 3 girls and a boy ages 13, 11, 6 and 3 months old ,  Terry and I has been married for 10 years, but have been together for 15 years total.

The Love Story of Eddie and Stephanie Miller

We met 28 years ago in 1987 through a mutual friend. I was 16 and he had just turned 20. Our first date didn't go too well because we had friends that didn't think we should date. He asked me out again and by the end of our second date we were inseparable. Obviously we had both seen other people before but this was different. When I would tell people that I loved him they'd say "you're only 16!! You don't know what love is!" But I knew and so did he. After dating for 6 months or so we found out we were going to have a baby. We were both excited but were very scared too. We thought about getting married then but all those people who doubted us before were really doubting us then. My own dad even said please don't get married. So we didn't. His mom and dad helped us get a little trailer and set it up and we moved in it. I won't lie, after Bryan was born in 1989 it was really hard for both of us. We were just kids our selves with a new baby! But we were bound and determined to be good parents and to prove everybody wrong. And we were still madly in love with one another. We didn't have a whole lot of money but we made do with what we had. We spent a lot of time at the river with our little boy and doing things that didn't cost anything but we were spending time with him and each other. When Bryan was 2 we decided to move to Springfield. The jobs were very scarce where we lived at that time. About a month after we moved, we found out we were pregnant again. As soon as we found out Eddie asked me to marry him. We didn't have the money for a wedding so we made arrangements to get married in his parents living room by his moms cousin who is a judge. Don't get me wrong, that day is very special to me. No we weren't having a big elaborate wedding and I was 5 months pregnant. But none of that mattered to me because I was marrying my best friend!! We had some family there and a few friends and it just happened to be the best day of my life!! We went to the lake of the Ozarks that night and played ski ball on the strip and ate dinner at Wendy's. It was OUR special day. We never thought things could get any better or change, but the day I became Mrs. Eddie Miller our lives were forever changed for the better! Everything was different but in a good way! So we started a new chapter in our lives as husband and wife, as best friends, and as parents to two little boys. In 1993 we found a little house to buy and raise our family in. It wasn't a big fancy house but it was ours. We immediately started the remodel process to make it how we wanted it. Then in 2004 when Bryan was 15 and Justin was 12 we found out we were going to have another baby. We were all excited beyond belief!! In January of 2005 our little princess Kylah was born. This year marks our 25th wedding anniversary and Eddie asked me to marry him again. He feels like I need to have the wedding that I deserved but never got. But what he doesn't realize is that September 14, 1991 was the best day of my life and nothing will ever take its place. But I am honored to be able to say "I do" to him again and would do it a million more times to make him happy. Bryan is 27 years old now and lives in Springfield with his girlfriend Bri who is a school teacher. He works at Murney and Assoc. selling real estate. Jay is 24 years old and lives in Niangua. In 2012 he blessed us with our first grandchild, Malakai. That little guy is the best thing that has happened to us since our own kids were born! Jay is the at risk teacher and he coaches basketball. Kylah is a typical 11 year old girl and still everyone's princess.
